Exposure of the Silurian Nantglyn Flags, consisting of mudstones and siltstones. In this exposure at Cymerau, the unit shows a regular fissile structure. BGS entry: Nantglyn Flags Formation - Mudstone And Siltstone. Sedimentary Bedrock formed approximately 419 to 428 million years ago in the Silurian Period. Local environment previously dominated by deep seas.
